Winter Study Trip
In winter we go to a chosen place, in the Norwegian winter mountains. We try winter activities such as cross-country skiing and play in the snow, and we spend cozy evenings with your classmates. The trip gives you experience with an important part of Norwegian culture: winter life and outdoor traditions, and values such as simplicity, community and joy in nature.
You challenge yourself in a safe setting, which builds confidence and a sense of mastery. You also use Norwegian in real situations: in social settings, during activities and in shared reflections.
It’s a time to relax, have fun, and share unforgettable moments with your classmates – the perfect way to experience a real Norwegian winter!
You help plan the trip, and before we leave we plan meals and activities together. Afterwards we evaluate the trip together.
You don’t need to buy any gear before the school year starts. The school and BUA Hjellestad lend out a lot of equipment for free, and if you need something else, we’ll help you borrow or buy good gear when you arrive.
The trip is mandatory and included in the price, with travel insurance.
